Speed Funding???

At KPE4 we are always looking at ways we might be able to do things differently in order to improve efficiency. One such idea we are currently pondering is whether funders and charities might be interested in a faster approach to funding applications.
The concept is that we would have a panel of funders (5-10) along with 6 pitching charities, recommended by KPE4. Each charity would do a brief presentation (5-6 mins), followed by questions from the panel (8-10mins). We would anticipate that this format would probably better suit smaller funding request (£4,000-£6,000). The concept would be similar to BBCs Dragon's Den - but less scary!
Benefits for charities
Saves time - in just 15mins will have reached up to (hopefully) 10 funders
No application form to complete
Opportunity for staff development
Opportunity to connect with new funders
May lead to future funding opportunities
More inclusive for those who don't excel at written comms
Benefit for Funders
Time efficient - within 90mins will have engaged with six charities
The charity work can more easily be brought to life
Can connect with the people behind the organisation
The pitch request is focused and concise so more easy to understand
The charities pitching have a strong relationship with KPE4 so there is less risk
We have a number of charities excited by the approach and are now looking ot see if there is an appetite from funders to join us in trialing the concept.
