At KPE4, we see the charities we fund as our partners, helping us to better understand the needs and challenges of the local communities they serve. In turn, our financial support helps them to meet these needs.
At the centre of these partnerships is trust – it is essential that we trust what they tell us (the good, the bad and the ugly!) and they trust that they can be open and honest with us without jeopardising funding.
Every year our most trusted partner charities are selected to become a Core Charity, a small network of charities focused on supporting young people growing up in and around Pilton and Muirhouse.

This year KPE4’s core charities are:
Together, these organisations provide a broad range of support, with work ranging from youth provision and outdoor learning to homelessness prevention, creative arts, family support and alternative education pathways. All work delivered is aligned to KPE4’s four strategic pillars - Nail the Basics, One Champion, Foster Belief and Collaborate.
Our Core Charity model is designed to provide stability, encourage collaboration and create space for shared learning, while allowing organisations to respond flexibly to the needs of local children, young people and families. As a core charity they are provided with multi-year funding, access to our network and knowledge as well as being invited to collaboration events and opportunities.
We are excited to share more about the impact our Core Charities are delivering throughout the coming year.
